I’m Barbren and I live in Weston super Mare in England.  I have always had an interest in the unexplained and Tarot Cards, and for me, they represent a way to see and feel the future, expressing a guidance to consider and possibly help you in making vital decisions today and to focus attention on possible important decisions to make in the future.

Tarot Cards can be eerily accurate in their predictions and it is a wise person that takes in and tries to understand their message.

I had my first psychic feeling or experience when I was six years old when I had a vivid dream of my brother who had been killed 6 months previous. I saw him climbing over the high wall at the top of the street where I lived. He came to tell me that he was happy! I told my mum the next day in my childlike way that my brother wasn’t dead after all as I saw him come over the wall and he told me he was happy, so you see mum, you don’t need to cry anymore cos he’s still alive! A little later after getting over the shock of what I said, mum said it was a great comfort to them knowing he was happy.

As time went by, I began to sense where people were, even when a great distance away from me. This was demonstrated to my mum just 3 weeks before I married, In my mind's eye, I followed my future husband all the way back from Germany, to the amazement of my mum. He wasn’t supposed to be coming for another 2 days, so it wasn't that I knew he was setting off, she reminded me later that I just came out with the fact that I could see him loading his car for the journey, that he was definitely preparing to set off for home right at that moment – I saw him and a mate (who was joining him on the journey) set off in the loaded car. There was also something sat on the back seat which I couldn’t quite make out but something quite large was there! I knew when he was boarding the ‘ferry’ from Ostend to Dover and knew when he was driving off the ferry. I kept on getting glimpses of him all through the journey, which pinpointed where he was at any given time. I knew when he crossed into Yorkshire and when he was stopped by the police for speeding in Wakefield. I told my mum that they were letting him off as he had told them he was getting married in 3 weeks time and was getting a bit over zealous to see me. They told him to slow down as I would want to see him in one piece – he thanked them realising he had been lucky and drove a little slower towards my home town.

About three quarter's of an hour later, I suddenly felt a warmth come over me and I knew he had arrived in Keighley.  I jumped up and popped the kettle on – mum still saying 'you really think he's here don't you?"  "Definitely", I said as I took out 2 cups & saucers in readiness for him and his friend. The kettle boiled and I made the tea. I poured out the tea as I felt him driving down the street, and when my mum heard the gate open, she nearly fainted with shock – but I knew it was him! He knocked on the door and was so shocked when I knew he was coming and also knew someone was with him.  He said, "but I turned off the engine to roll down the street because of the hour, so you couldn't have heard us (it was 1.30 in the morning).  I passed them both their tea!   Mum just said to him “You’ll just never believe it – she’s followed you all the way! Did you get stopped by the police in Wakefield? Yes, he confirmed but he let me off because I was getting married! "She knew that too!" said mum, and then continued "What have you got on the back seat of the car?    "She knows there's something sitting on the back seat".  He just stared and said, a bit shocked, “Well I’d better get it then! And came in with the biggest pink teddy bear I had ever seen – he had brought it for me!  Probably just as well!!  And probably just as well his companion was a male!

I had many moments when I knew what was happening to people that I cared for and sometimes people were freaked by the accuracy but in the main it was OK and I accepted it as a normal thing for me but never thought at that time of telling strangers their fortunes.

It was quite a few years later, when I was in my late thirties that I began experiencing feelings and insights when anyone sat opposite or passed close to me but I didn’t take much notice of it until sometime later when I called to see a fortune teller myself, she told me that I should be sat where she was!  Even later, another lady who came into the office where I worked, asked me, out of the blue, why I didn’t read tarots! I didn’t even know what they were! She told me about the tarot cards and urged me to get some as they would help me understand my insight experiences - she was psychic and had felt it very strongly for me when she talked to me.

I bought my first tarot pack and found I had the ability to read fortunes without any training and this amazed me as I was constantly told I was surprisingly accurate. Friends asked me to read theirs and it escalated from there.

I practised ‘fortune telling’ for some years and was very successful in and around surrounding areas of my now home town of Weston super Mare. As well as tarot cards, I used rune stones occasionally, which I made (it is important to make your own) as it is said that using your own rune stones strengthens your ability to understand their meanings and to give more depth to the readings.

Tarot Cards are, nevertheless, my favourite way of divination as they are surprisingly accurate and also fun! Learning to read tarots is fun and quite easy to learn. There are many different card packs with varied themes. I personally prefer the traditional packs, particularly the Ryder-Waite Tarot Pack which denotes and illustrates so clearly the actions and reactions within the cards – this helps the reader to accurately describe what they are seeing, so are ideal cards for beginners.

As I have said earlier, it is fun to learn how to read tarot cards but it is important that caution should be used as they can be dangerous in the wrong hands.
