There are different card spreads that you should try when learning the tarots to enable you to adapt and select the best spread for the querant in question (the person who is receiving the reading). I personally like the circular spread or the tree of life both of which represents a 12 month period.

 

At times, the querant desires the answer to a specific question, then I would recommend the use of The Horseshoe Spread which is a simple yet comprehensive spread. The querant should be told to concentrate on his or her question whilst shuffling the pack.
